Today was Abraham's 18 month well visit.  Brahm was in a pretty good mood until he had to stand on the scale.  I tried to reassure him that they only add 5lbs to the scale when you are over 21, but he didn't buy it.  He is now 27lbs! He's 60% on the chart, which is higher than he's ever been, he's typically 40-50% in weight.  He's 34 inches tall (85%) and his head is right at 50%, where it's been since he was born.  We are grateful he is such a healthy little boy.  He only had one shot today.  I think he's good to go until he's 4, except for the flu shot each year.

This afternoon I was craving some cookies, so I went in the pantry and took out a bag of chocolate chips.  Abraham heard the bag, flew around the corner, shouting, "More! More,"  took my hand and directed me to his high chair.  Mr. Brahm wanted to have a snack of chocolate chips!  I found it highly amusing considering he's never had chocolate chips and I've really never make cookies with him.  I shared the cute store with Aunt Emmy and Uncle Glen.   I must call Aunt Emmy a lot, because when I had the phone on speaker and it was ringing, Brahm kept repeating "Emmy, Emmy".

Well, I did decide to make some yummy chocolate chip cookies.
Mr. Brahm was a huge help!   And by help, I mean, he had a wonderful time of independent play and did not open the oven and burn himself.

Besides, everyone knows that the most important helper, in regards to cookies, is the TASTE TESTER!!

Ditherman Reunion

Saturday was the Ditherman (Dise-Leatherman) Reunion.  Brahm got to see Rachel, Jesse, Cora, Uncle Glen, Hannah and honorary member/Emily's replacement: Liz.  Sadly, we were missing Reuben and Emily, as they were out of state.   The day started with a picnic at Lake Nockamixon.

After a short stint at the playground, we packed up and headed back to the Light's house.  We had some delicious ice cream cake to celebrate Rachel's birthday.  Cora had to take a nap, so Brahm played with her toys.  Since Emily wasn't able to come to the reunion, Brahm had to pretend Hannah was his Aunt too.

After dinner, Brahm was able to play with Cora while the grown ups played a game.  After staying up way past their bedtimes, they had to say goodbye.

Week with Daddy!

Abraham loves spending time with his Daddy.  After the long 7 days of Jeremy working overnight shifts, Brahm is very ready to have his Daddy back!  (and so am I!)  One week out of the month, Jeremy and Brahm get to play together while I take a turn to earn the bacon.  (or really, I earn the spam).  Regardless, I get to keep up my resume and the boys bond.

Brahm loves this week because he gets Daddy during the day AND night!  Of course, this means Brahm sleeps better.  Jeremy is apparently the more fun parent.  When Jeremy is working, I mainly stay home, run errands, or go to the grocery store.  When I go to work, Jeremy takes Brahm on backpack rides and long car rides to Marlin Markets.  And then they stop at Walmart for a diaper change and come home with $11  Pablo and Uniqua plush toys.  Jeremy wouldn't have bought them if he knew how much they were..but the kid sure loves " 'ablo!"  Today, Jeremy took Brahm to Ollies.  Jeremy said that throughout the store, Brahm kept saying, " 'ablo, 'ablo!"  I guess that's why he came home with another Backyardigans book.

Tonight I went out to dinner with Ashley, a friend from high school.  We went to Quaker Steak and Lube and had fun catching up.  Jeremy and Brahm enjoyed Arbys and then Jeremy was in charge of getting Brahm to bed.  This is the first time I wasn't home for bedtime, of course, everything went fine and I came home to Brahm in bed and Jeremy watching tv with the laundry started.  (My husband is awesome!)

Tomorrow is another day at work for me and a new adventure for the boys.

18 Months Old!

Abraham is now 18 months old!  He certainly has a lot of personality!  He is learning so many new words.  He pretty much has all of the muppets of Sesame Street in his daily language.  He loves Elmo and Ernie the best, but Abby is thrown in there pretty frequently.  He certainly learned his love of TV characters from his Daddy.

His newest word/phrase is "dabba-do"  We aren't sure what it means or where he picked it up, because he never has watched the Flintstones.  Basically, he says it when he wants to do something, like be lifted up to turn on/off the lights.  His all time cutest phrase though, is still "Good Idea." ...or when he says "Uh Oh" when something breaks, then "All better" when it's fixed.  See, he's so cute, everything is adorable.

Except..his stubborn little tantrums that are sprouting up.  Well, he's on his way to two, what can I expect?

In exciting news, Abraham has decided that he loves cows milk.  We no longer have to flavor it, which is very exciting to me.  He drinks down his sippy and gets upset when he's out.  We are very fortunate that he loves his fruits, veggies, and milk!  If only he would decide to like meat and meals instead of snacks on a more consistent basis.

This is how Brahm feels about his Daddy!
