This weekend Abraham had tons of fun playing with his cousins Carson and Caitlyn.  Friday night Brahm was able to take a car ride to pick up his cousins from camp.  Brahm loves car rides and he LOVED Mommy sitting next to him on the way home.  Brahm had fun eating his dinner in the car and looking out of his window at the big trucks.  Brahm was very excited to stay up past his bedtime.

Saturday morning Brahm had fun showing Carson and Caitlyn his toys.  Carson and Caitlyn wanted money for some chores, so we put them to work pulling weeds....they lasted $5 worth.

For the past 6 months, Jeremy has been trying to convince Carson to cut his hair.  He has been agreeing to short trims, but this time, Jeremy pulled out the big guns.  (Bribe that finally worked)

Carson ended up with these:

For this haircut:

All were happy in the end.  (At least..we think his mom is happy...)

Carson is holding a Kermit hat that Jeremy bought him.  Brahm LOVED this hat!  Carson was so nice to share it with Brahm multiple times this weekend.

We might be getting Abraham an "Elmo" hat since he loved it so much.

Caitlyn spent her time picking up balls that Brahm threw out of his ballpit but found some time to read some of Brahm's books, too.

Grandmom, Pop Pop, and Uncle Glen came up for lunch today.  We celebrated Grandmom's birthday that will be on Friday.  We (Herb, Glen, and us) bought her a new knife set and cutting board set.  Brahm was excited to see them again.  He took his nap late, and slept only an hour, waking up just as their car was leaving the driveway.  He was very upset that he didn't wake up early enough to say goodbye.

But he was able to watch the Phillies win, so it all worked out in the end.  Go Phillies!

Eye Appointment Update

Today Brahm had an appointment with Dr. Wilson, his Ophthalmologist.  This was a follow up appointment to see how his left eye has improved after patching his right eye 1-2 hours a day for the past four months.  Dr. Wilson was very happy with the improvement of his left eye alignment.  He still wants us to keep patching at the same frequency to continue to encourage his left eye to get stronger, since he feels Brahm's right eye is still dominate.  Brahm doesn't seem to have any problems seeing with a patch on or off, so we are very happy with that!  His next appointment is in six months!

Grammy, Grandmom, and "Bay-be" Cole

Yesterday was very busy.  We attended the Histand Reunion in Perkasie.  This is Jeremy's Mom's family.  It was hot.  It was nice to see Jeremy's Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and other extended family.  Brahm enjoyed time with his Grammy and Grandpop.  Grammy sent him home with a huge bag of one of his favorite snacks: Animal Crackers!  We also discovered Brahm enjoys Baked Beans, BBQ Pork, and Whoopie Pies!   Jeremy's Aunt Carla was nice enough to share her Whoopie Pie with Brahm--but I think Brahm ate more of it than she did.

At the reunion I was able to see Julie and Brian, two people with whom I graduated high school.  If it's true it's a small world, then being Mennonite makes it smaller.

After some time at the reunion, we went to my parents house to meet Baby Cole!  Cole my newest nephew.  He was born March 4, 2011 at 26 weeks gestation.  He recently came home and is doing well.  Brahm did pretty good with him.  He mostly ignored him, but did try to grab his oxygen tube.  It's funny how kids notice something different on other kids, we always have to watch that other kids don't grab Brahm's glasses.  I was able to hold him & give him a bottle.  (Sorry Grandmas--but the baby bug didn't bite).

Brahm enjoyed his fun filled day!  I have no pictures to share with you because I never get around to taking them.  I'm working on being more diligent about that.

A is for Awesome!

Today was a pretty great day.  Brahm and I started today by getting his haircut.  This was not awesome for him, but it needed to be done, as he will see his Grammy and Grandpop Jacobs AND his Grandmom and Pop-Pop Leatherman on Saturday.  (Not to mention, he will be meeting his cousin Cole for the first time!)

After a fun morning and afternoon of playing with Mommy, he was able to play with the best babysitter ever, Jennie!  She really won his heart by bringing Rita's.  (Blue-Raspberry Misto-was a hit, but he was nice enough to share with Jeremy and me.)

Stay cool tomorrow!

And So It Begins...

I was convinced to start a blog by my good friend Heather.  I will mostly talk about my adorable son Abraham and the crazy things he gets into each day.

Since this is the first post, let's introduce the family..

Jeremy earns Brahm's toy money by working as a hospital pharmacist.  He confuses Brahm by having a rotating schedule.  Sometimes Jeremy is home playing with him, sometimes he's sleeping, and sometimes he's at work.  Brahm is in search of "Dada" daily, but luckily for him, I am home to keep him company.

I used to work as an Aging Care Manger at the best office in the world.  I still work there on occasion, because they are awesome and they let me.

Jeremy and I have been married 5 years (almost 6!).  We met while working at Spruce Lake Wilderness Camp 9 summers ago.

Abraham was born February 4, 2010.
He is now 17 months old.
He makes us laugh all the time with his crazy antics.
