Last weekend was the Columbia Montour Aging Office Inc Pig Roast fundraiser. The first two years I was able to work it but, since Brahm was born, I am just a participant. It takes place at the Catawissa Boat Club and is always a good time. With a small child, it's slightly more complicated, especially alone. Jeremy has been scheduled to work each year, so last year Aunt Emmy joined us. This time, however, I invited my parents (Grandmom and Pop Pop to Brahm) up for the weekend. Abraham had a wonderful time playing with Grandmom and being chased by Pop Pop. Brahm showed Grandmom and Pop Pop all the fun things he does in his "indoor playground" his basement.

I love the ball pit! |
He also loves pushing his swing set/slide in circles. Brahm was really good at the pig roast. We went right after church, skipping his nap. He let us eat and then fell asleep while going on a stroller ride. While he was napping, my mom and I put chances in the basket raffles and donated some money playing rip offs. (Well, I donated money, Mom won big!)

This week Jeremy picked up an extra night, so I didn't work as we planned to go to Ohio over the weekend. Jeremy was going to attend a Psalm 119 conference and I was going to catch up with friends from college. Wednesday morning Jeremy went to bed and told me to wake him up in a few hours. Brahm and I played then I put him down for a nap. I went to get the laundry to fold and found water coming in our laundry room. Luckily, it was time for Jeremy to wake up, so he went down and used the shop-vac to clean it up. He said it was coming from our drain, as it had been raining for days and the ground was so saturated it had no where else to go. Periodically, through the day, Jeremy would go down and clean up the water coming in, finding it was also coming from the wall next to our oil tank. After I put Brahm to bed for the night, I went down to the basement to check on Jeremy...and found water everywhere. It was pouring in from under the walls, Jeremy couldn't keep up with the shop vac, and it was still raining. I tried to help as much as I could, only having a mop and a bucket. The rain slowed, we made progress, until it started pouring again. We cleaned up water until 1 and called it a night. We woke up to 1/3 inch of rain in the basement, and horrible flooding reported on the news in Bloom town from Fishing Creek. Route 80 was closed by then, so even if we were dry, there was no way our plans would work out.
Right when it was starting to lighten up with the rain, our electricity went out. We were lucky it was only out for 3 hours, so Jeremy was able to suck out the water. I couldn't help since no one was able to get here to watch Brahm. We now have 12 fans going to dry out the floor (we have tile) and a dehumidifierer. Glen was able to come up on Friday to bring us 3 fans and then stayed overnight. Since we were still trying to dry out, we couldn't use him much, but Brahm had a great time playing with him.
Jeremy always said if we flood, then the whole town of Bloomsburg is going to flood. Sadly, it's true. The pictures from town are terribly sad.
Brahm is not very happy he hasn't been down in the basement in several days. Each time Jeremy goes down he asks to go down with him. He's also going stir crazy in the house and keeps asking to "Go Bye Bye" all the time.
This week, Jeremy asked to have off, so we will hopefully be able to clean the basement well. Next weekend we are planning to have our niece Cameron up to visit. We are looking forward to that!
